Estelle
Hi, I'm Estelle and I joined SNIP's Information and
Advocacy team in July 2007. Prior to that I worked in a range of
information and support services including the Childcare Information Service in
2000, the Central Library on George IV Bridge and The City of Edinburgh
Council's Housing department.
For the past 2 and half years I worked for the Welfare Rights Advice service of
the Action Group, supporting people with a range of additional support needs to
tackle their benefits issues.
I have a strong interest in counselling and psychology. I took an introduction
course in Counselling Approaches at the Edinburgh University's Lifelong Learning
Department (evening classes) a few years ago. I am applying for a course
in Counselling Skills and I will do my best to get my certificate.
In my spare time I enjoy cycling and walking, going to the cinema (including
foreign films), theatre, music and the odd dance show. I am interested in
cultural diversity and always welcome opportunities to sample foreign food ...
I enjoy working with people and I'm looking forward to meeting parents. I
will do my best to put my existing experience to good use. I am also very
enthusiastic about advocacy, I am keen to learn and practice it for the benefit
of parents and their children.
