Helen

Hello – I’m Helen, and I’m very pleased to introduce myself as SNIP’s  Information Worker.

My background is in Library and Information work – I worked at the National Library of Scotland for 18 years before taking a year out to travel, and started working for SNIP in 2002.  I enjoy helping people with enquiries and research.  I carry out a wide range of work at SNIP - from producing the monthly newsletter and this website to paying the bills!   I work to develop SNIP’s information services and resources further, and produce factsheets and leaflets.  I also have a lot of experience in doing research online and am always happy to offer guidance and support for members who are interested in using the internet to do their own research.  If you would like some help with the internet, from basics like where to begin looking for information to help with undertaking more complex searching, I would be delighted to hear from you.

One thing which I have in common with my colleagues at SNIP is having a family member with additional support needs, so I am very aware of the sort of issues that families can sometimes face.
